Progress

I bit the bullet and stuck my boys in the same room last week while Tim was out of town. It hasn't been too bad. Bed time is the only really struggle and even then it could be much worse. I had my mom come over to help me move the furniture around. I new pretty quickly that I wasn't going to like the layout options for both of the boys beds to be in one room. I am not a super spacial person, but beds take up a lot of space and since their bedroom is the primary place for toy storage and play I knew after a few days that I wanted to do something different, so I am planning on getting a bunk bed situation in there....I'm not totally excited about it, but I think it will be a good solution. I have an IKEA trip on the docket for tomorrow, so there will be some after pictures coming up soon.

Before

I moved everything out of the boys room into the nursery.

And had to disassemble the crib to move it to the other room (it was kind of a pain).

After....It's good for now, but I think that it will be a ton better once we get them in a bunk bed. I think the space will be much more useful.

And taking us out is this amazing print that my sister in law painted for the baby's nursery. I'm so happy with it. She did an amazing job. Once I get the boys room all put together I can put all my energy into the baby's room...and I'm pretty excited about it.

Finding Motivation and Inspiration

I often find that to get excited about organizing and decluttering I need a little bit of motivation. As if having a third child and needing to put my two boys in the same room isn't motivation enough, getting to decorate a fresh space certainly is! Eliminating excess and starting with a blank canvas really allows for creativity. So, I've been keeping my eyes open and looking for some baby girl room inspiration. Mostly at Target (my go to affordable decor store) and on Pinterest and I think I have lit the motivation fire for this project. With any luck I'll get started on Monday. Really excited to rearrange, organize and purge!!

I found this adorable throw pillow at Target. I am leaning towards a woodland/floral theme. The primary colors with be gold, mint, coral, navy and light pink.

I love this eclectic arrangement above the clean white dresser. It's a great amount of simplicity and interest.

These flowers!! I won't be doing wallpaper or painting, but they are the inspiration for a project that I am asking my sister-in-law to do for me.

And finally, these fabrics! I love them!!

They are the perfect colors!

And if nothing else.....

Making a blanket might be in my future.

So many fun patterns!

Here Goes Nothing

Alright, here we go!!! I've really wanted to get serious about living more simply, organizing, and writing my thoughts down. So, now I've got my own little space to do just that. Eek! I'm so excited!! And nervous!

With baby number three expected to arrive in just 7-10 weeks (both of my boys came early, so I feel like I have to plan on the early side...without getting my hopes up if the baby stays in longer...it's tricky), I still have a lot of things to do to get ready for her arrival. This blog is just the motivation I need to get some things done and document them. Here's the list of all the things I'd love to do before baby girl gets here:

- Put the boys in the same room (I'm kinda terrified of this)
- Decorate the nursery and get it ready for baby girl
- Organize the fridge and freezer (I'd say stock the freezer with ready made meals, but my freezer is tiny)
- Organize the kitchen cupboards
- Get started on the next series of shutterfly books for my boys and for baby girl

My sister has committed to come over next week to help me get the boys rooms combined and we'll go from there. I'm sure emptying out the nursery will make this baby coming that much more real.

Here goes nothing!
